Nick’s journey with Leathers & Associates began when the company he was working for was hired to assist with a playground project in his hometown. "This collaboration opened my eyes to new experiences and opportunities," Nick recalls. He was immediately drawn to the hands-on, creative work that brought communities together and created spaces for children to play and explore. After officially joining the team, his first major assignment took place in Chicago. "This new environment challenged me in unexpected ways," Nick shares. He quickly learned to navigate the complexities of urban playground design, where the needs of the neighborhood, safety regulations, and creative vision had to come together seamlessly. Collaborating with local organizers and fellow builders, Nick embraced the challenge of turning each unique vision into reality. "The satisfaction of seeing these playgrounds take shape was incredibly fulfilling," he says. Joining Leathers & Associates not only expanded his skill set but also deepened his appreciation for the power of community-driven projects. Nick views his time at the company as a journey of growth, learning, and making a tangible impact on the world around him.

Nick is eager to master all aspects of playground building—from the initial design to the final construction details. His time in Chicago was key to advancing these skills. The larger and more complex projects there pushed him to refine his approach to design, safety, and execution, sharpening his abilities and deepening his understanding of what it takes to build playgrounds that are both fun and safe for children.

In his off time, Nick enjoys unwinding on the golf course. When he’s not golfing, he can often be found spending time with friends, sharing laughs, and making the most of their time together. However, his passion for construction projects often draws him back, whether it's tinkering with something at home or helping out a friend.
